Mr. Kratzer started a small wood working shop in 1975.
Kratzer manufactured various small wooden parts for local businesses. Items range from gifts and trophies to potato bins that were sold to JCPenny!
In 1987 Kratzer began to glue up solid wood panels (boards) for the local Amish. Using these boards the Amish would build beautiful pieces of furniture. This began a working relationship with the Amish.
In 1996 Kratzer started a 30' x 60' retail store in front of the cabinet shop. He purchased furniture from the same people he processed the panels for. The retail business grew to what it is today.
In 1999 the retail store was relocated along Kidron road in a 36' x 66' nineteenth century bank barn with an additional 46' x 100' showroom in the back.
The most unique thing about Kratzer Furniture is that 99% of the retail goods are "Made in America" with most of the craftsmen being Amish.
